Poet’s Pad: Spring

SunMoonBirdsArt by Brenda Lyons

The days are getting warmer. Summer is just over yonder. So, a few words on spring. Words, and poetry for that matter, are so illusory. We’re always just talking around the concept, the emotion, the thing. The meaning is in between the lines, within your breath, within that mental break. Cherish it. I hope you enjoy yourselves today wherever you may be. Boundless love to all.

Spring

Thick, swollen air
pricked with promise.

Birds click and convulse
flitting from wood

to wood

desperate for expulsion and
a fight.

Branches
falter.

Leaves ruffle and rub

A thousand whispers
keep no secret.
