There is a light inside of every human being. We must not be afraid to turn it on and share that light with others. It is the truest part of each of us; the true self unburdened with the insecurities, doubts, prejudices, anger, sadness, and habits to which we are so attached. Those are simply feelings and thoughts created by a skewed sense of self, but they are not the self. The true self is pure and brimming with light. Do not stifle that light. How will anyone see you, then?
